These are works by wood artisan Kinji Yoshida.
Mr. Yoshida has a workshop in Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture, where he creates his pieces.

He personally selects the wood, shapes it, hand-carves it, and finishes it with lacquer.
While retaining the organic beauty unique to hand-carving, the carefully aligned carved patterns are truly beautiful.
The "black lacquer" finish has a matte base, but it also has a dark luster characteristic of lacquer.
The "white lacquer" has an attractive, unique, slightly bluish hue.
Both finishes allow the wood grain of the base material to be felt.

His knowledge and skill in woodworking.
