These works are by ceramic artist Yuuki Abe, who creates pottery in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture.
Abe values "the interesting shapes, textures, and patterns that clay naturally creates." She mainly produces the "Tetsue" series, which features patterns drawn with iron-containing pigments, and the "Hie" series, which uses cracks in white slip to create patterns.
Having previously worked in architecture, many of her pieces feature very modern designs, and she is particular about creating textures that evoke the natural feel unique to ceramics.
