Yuki Abe Mug Lid Plate Bronze

Yuki Abe creates pottery in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture.
Focusing on techniques that use white slip on ceramic clay, she creates highly designed vessels by employing methods such as carving crack patterns, painting bold patterns with a brush using iron-glaze, and applying bronze glaze for a strong metallic finish.

Having previously worked in architecture, many of her pieces feature very modern designs, while still retaining the natural texture characteristic of pottery.

In recent years, she has also been experimenting with new approaches, such as brush patterns and variations in clay color.
