These are works by Eiichi Fukuda of Sugary Ceramics, produced in Namerikawa City, Toyama Prefecture.
Drawing inspiration from Annamese pottery techniques, Fukuda creates unique landscapes on his vessels by combining underglaze blue painting with a technique called "ittchin" (slip trailing).
In addition to the lightness of classical patterns, this collection also features many colored pieces, with the expressive lines created by the brushstrokes spreading even more richly.
The lingering impression of calm blue, delicate colors, and somewhat fantastical motifs.
A new collection of quiet and clear works, as if nestled in the winter air, has arrived.
All works are hand-painted by Fukuda-san.
Please take your time to admire them, as if tracing the brushstrokes left on the vessels.
