Eichi Fukuda Annan-de Ryo-ka Plate Small, Two Boats

These are works by Eiichi Fukuda of Sugary Ceramics, produced in Namerikawa City, Toyama Prefecture.

Mr. Fukuda draws inspiration from the Annamese technique, combining underglaze painting with slip-trailing (called "ittchin") to create unique landscapes on his pottery.

In addition to the lightness of classical patterns, this collection features many overglaze enamel pieces, with the expressive lines created by his brushstrokes becoming even richer.

The lingering impression of calm blue, subtle colors, and somewhat fantastical motifs.
A new collection with a quiet and clear presence, as if nestled in the winter air, has arrived.

All works are hand-painted by Mr. Fukuda.
Please take your time to appreciate them, tracing the brushstrokes left on the pottery.
