Fukuda Eiichi Annamese Style Small Square Plate (Cloud and Plover Pattern)

These are works by Eiichi Fukuda of Sugary Ceramics, produced in Namerikawa City, Toyama Prefecture.

Inspired by the Annan ware technique, Fukuda combines underglaze blue painting with a slip-trailing method called "icchhin" to create unique landscapes on his pottery.

In addition to the lightness of classical patterns, this collection also features many colored enamel works, where the expression of lines created by the brushstrokes is even richer and more expansive.

The lingering calm blue, the delicate colors, and the somewhat fantastical motifs.
New works with a quiet, clear presence, as if nestled in the winter air, are now on display.

All works are hand-painted by Mr. Fukuda.
