These works are by Eiichi Fukuda of Sugary Ceramics, produced in Namerikawa City, Toyama Prefecture.
Drawing inspiration from Annamese pottery techniques, Fukuda creates unique landscapes on his vessels by combining underglaze blue painting with a slip-trailing technique called "icchinn."
In addition to the lightness of classical patterns, this collection features many overglaze enamel pieces, with the expressive lines created by the brushstrokes spreading even more richly.
The lingering calm blue, the delicate colors, and the somewhat fantastical motifs.
A new collection of quiet and clear pieces, as if snuggling into the winter air, has arrived.
All works are hand-painted by Fukuda.
Please take your time to appreciate them, tracing the brushstrokes left on each vessel.
