These are works by Megumi Miyamoto, who creates pottery in Habikino City, Osaka Prefecture.
Miyamoto's pottery is characterized by its beautiful forms and exquisite turquoise glaze.
For her turquoise glaze pieces, she uses both semi-porcelain and red clay, creating variations with the same glaze depending on the clay.
Since it's a crystalline glaze, no two patterns are the same, making each piece unique.
She mentioned that kiln firing requires extreme care as the glaze is very sensitive to temperature.
In recent years, she has been introducing new glaze expressions at every exhibition.
You can experience various forms of blue expressed by Miyamoto, such as the glossy, refreshing blue "Soteki Glaze," her latest "Yoi" series which has a purple hue that changes with light, and pieces where these glazes are applied separately.
