This is a work by Youji Matsuoka, who has a blown glass studio in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Many of Mr. Matsuoka's vessels feature gently rounded designs, and some are even titled "Marui" (meaning "round").
In addition to the series of slightly amber-tinted clear glass, there is also a new series of colored glass.
They have a suitable thickness, fit very comfortably in the hand, and are suitable for everyday use.
When the transparent, round glass traps light, a warm spot is created in the space.
