Mutsumi Ohashi, who has a studio in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, creates works that strongly bring out the characteristics of the clay.
The beauty of modern forms coexists with an untamed expression.
This coexistence is where Ohashi's charm lies.

Ohashi uses a wood-fired kiln, which she fires only a few times a year, and a kerosene kiln, which she uses daily, according to the purpose.
She uses the ash created in the wood-fired kiln as ash glaze and then fires it in the kerosene kiln, creating her works by moving back and forth between processes.

This time, she is also attempting to re-fire works that were fired in the kerosene kiln in the wood-fired kiln.
Each work, having circulated through the elements of earth, fire, and ash, returns to the flames once again.

Worked at Masuho Noborigama in 1996
Built an anagama kiln and established a studio in Takagawa-cho, Yamanashi Prefecture in 2003
