Taiga Oku's glass creations are born from heat exceeding 1300℃.

He constantly rotates the rod to prevent the honey-like molten glass from dripping, shaping it swiftly with minimal movements before it cools and solidifies.

The forms created from this continuous rotation and speed are as cool and crisp as "water" 透かす「水」 lit by early summer light, possessing a dignified presence.

"Items for daily use. Items you want to keep by your side. Simple and beautiful items."
These are the sentiments that drive Oku's creative process.

Oku's works showcase the beautiful colors of the glass itself, shimmering in rainbow hues when light passes through them.
Though delicate in form, they possess a pleasant thickness and weight, making them beautiful additions that blend into everyday life.

This is a work by Taiga Oku, a glass artist active in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture.

His beautiful, transparent works, through which light passes, are created using blow working (blown glass). These vessels, crafted with a commitment to what constitutes a beautiful form, can truly be described as "dignified," possessing a presence that refines any space they inhabit.

Oku creates his works with the philosophy of "things to use every day, things to keep nearby, things that are simple and beautiful."

Oku's works are beautiful in the inherent color of the glass itself, and when light passes through them, they shimmer with a rainbow of colors. While their forms are delicate, they possess a moderate thickness and weight, making them works that beautifully adorn daily life while blending in seamlessly.
