These are works by Taiga Oku, a glass artist working in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture.
His beautiful, transparent works, through which light passes, are created using blow work (blown glass).
His vessels, crafted with a meticulous focus on what constitutes a beautiful form, truly embody the word "rin" (dignified and austere), possessing a presence that tightens a space just by being there.
"Things to use every day. Things to keep close by. Things that are simple and beautiful."
Oku-san creates his works with these thoughts in mind.
Oku-san's works have a beautiful inherent glass color that shines with a rainbow hue when light passes through.
While their form is delicate, they have a moderate thickness and weight, making them works that blend beautifully into everyday life.
