Ms. Obuchi, who makes pottery in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, uses a variety of colorful glazes to create works with beautiful tones.
The color combinations change every time, and organic changes from firing, such as how the glaze melts and flows, are also added.
This creates unique works, no two of which are the same.
There are countless types of graded glazes, and in recent years she has also been making plates painted with colorful glazes that resemble Impressionist paintings.
