These are the works of Yuta Tsukamoto, a young ceramic artist based in Taketoyo-cho, Chita-gun, Aichi Prefecture.
Centering on pottery bowls made on a potter's wheel, he creates works with varying textures: soft "white," hard and dignified "black," dull shining "silver," and delicate, beautiful "light silver" with fine cracks.
This time, Mr. Tsukamoto created many vessels for Chinese tea and Japanese tea, which he himself enjoys daily.
The abstract, somewhat sculptural forms and details designed to fit comfortably in the hand reflect the maker's earnest gaze towards daily tea time.
Everyday tableware such as plates and bowls, with their simple yet nuanced forms, pair well with various ingredients and blend seamlessly into daily life.
We hope you will choose a piece that enriches your daily life—even if just a little.
