This is a piece by Naoko Ueno, a potter based in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture.

Ueno mainly uses Amakusa clay, employing both wheel throwing and press molding techniques.
Her painting style, which evokes the presence of antique pottery, is remarkably light and effortless.

She primarily uses gosu (cobalt blue pigment) for her designs, blending it to achieve different hues depending on the shape and atmosphere of each piece.
Some works also incorporate aka-e (red overglaze enamel) and iro-e (polychrome enamels), showcasing a diverse and delightfully unpretentious charm.
