Takeshi Yoshida, a potter who works in Mashiko Town, Haga District, Tochigi Prefecture, a town famous for its pottery.
Mr. Yoshida mainly creates two series: "Bronze," which has a texture like unearthed artifacts, and "Hakudeisai" (White Clay Glaze), which resembles the walls of ruins.
In recent years, he has also added series with very elaborate and strong sculptural elements.
Many of his works clearly show a strong commitment to color and texture, and their unique appearance, like unearthed artifacts, is distinctive.
This time, there are also original ceramic works such as masks and candlesticks.
On the other hand, many of his vessels are lightweight, making them perfect for everyday use.
