Abe Yuki Andon Dish 4-inch Bronze

Yuki Abe makes pottery in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture.
She primarily uses a technique of applying white slip to clay, and also creates highly-designed vessels by carving crack patterns, painting bold patterns with a brush using iron painting, and utilizing bronze glaze that produces a strong metallic feel.

Having previously worked in architecture, many of her pieces feature very modern designs, while still retaining the natural texture characteristic of pottery.

In recent years, she has also been experimenting with new approaches such as brush patterns and clay colors.

2009 Completed the Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center
2014 After working at an architectural design firm, began making pottery in her hometown of Aichi.
