These are works by Eiichi Fukuda of Sugary Ceramics, made in Namerikawa City, Toyama Prefecture.
Drawing inspiration from Annamese pottery techniques, Mr. Fukuda combines underglaze blue painting with a slip-trailing technique called "icchinn" to create unique landscapes on his ceramics.
In addition to the lightness of classical patterns, this collection features many overglaze enamel works, further enriching the expressions of lines created by the brushstrokes.
A lingering tranquil blue, subtle colors, and somewhat fantastical motifs.
A new collection of works with a quiet, clear presence, as if nestled in the winter air, is now available.
All works are hand-painted by Mr. Fukuda.
Please take your time to appreciate them, tracing the brushstrokes left on each piece.
