These are works by Gengo Furukawa, who creates pottery in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture.
Furukawa's works include the "White Glaze" series, with its gentle cream-colored tones, the "Carbonized" series, a deep black infused with charcoal during firing, and the "Silver Glaze" series, which features silver applied while retaining a rough texture.
His sculptural pieces evoke a strange feeling, as if sensing a "presence" of something being there.
Through experiencing Furukawa's ceramic works, we hope you will be reminded of the sense of re-recognizing the existence surrounding these objects.
