These are works by Yohei Goto, who has a studio in Chiba Prefecture.
He creates glass works using kiln-forming and pâte de verre techniques.
These techniques are very labor-intensive, as they involve creating a mold from a prototype, filling it with glass paste, firing it, and then polishing the surface.
However, these techniques create a unique, jewel-like appeal with fine bubbles, delicate color gradations, and a translucent finish.
Goto, who also works with stained glass, uses a variety of other techniques and glass to create his works.
His works have a poetic calmness amidst their brightness.
