Yohei Goto Rim Plate D

This is a work by Yohei Goto, who has a studio in Chiba Prefecture.
He creates glass art using kiln-forming and pâte de verre techniques.

These techniques are very labor-intensive, as they involve creating a mold from an original, filling it with glass paste, firing it, and then polishing the surface.
However, these techniques produce a gemstone-like charm, with fine bubbles, delicate color gradations, and a translucent finish that can only be achieved this way.

Goto, who also works with stained glass, uses a variety of other techniques and types of glass to create his pieces.
His works evoke a poetic tranquility amidst their brightness.
