These are works by Yohei Goto, who has a studio in Chiba Prefecture.
He creates glass artworks using kiln-forming and pâte-de-verre techniques.
These techniques are very labor-intensive, as they involve making a mold from a prototype, filling it with glass paste, firing it, and then polishing the surface.
However, these techniques create a unique charm, like that of a jewel, with fine bubbles, delicate color gradations, and translucent finishes that are characteristic of this method.
Goto, who also works with stained glass, creates pieces using various other techniques and types of glass.
His works evoke a poetic tranquility amidst their brightness.
