This is a piece by Keicondo, a potter working in Kasama.
Color has always been a significant element when talking about Kei's pottery.
His signature "yellow," the quietly impactful "white," and the "green" he's been working on in recent years.
These colors respond to each other, creating a lineup where the charm of each is highlighted by their combinations.
And this time, "red" has been added as a new color.
This "red" utilizes the natural color of the soil itself from Kei's hometown of Kasama.
The natural hues of the soil gently emerge through firing, showing an expression that combines calmness and strength.
Adding color deepens one's understanding of the material.
We hope you can appreciate the "terroir" of Keicondo's pottery that emerges through each color.
