Mr. Komiya creates his works in Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture.
Using the blown glass technique, he crafts vessels in transparent, gray, and white glass.
His works, characterized by their dignified designs, evoke a sense of natural fluctuation, with elements of softness and subtle colors.
The "white vessels" are sandblasted on the outside, giving them a translucent, smooth texture that allows light to faintly pass through.
The inside is a transparent color close to gray, and the combination of the inside and outside creates a mysterious hue that can also be perceived as a faint blue.
Many of his transparent glass pieces feature a fluctuating finish using a mold-blown technique based on gray.
He also has a clear series made from recycled glass.
All of his vessels are designed to create beautiful light.
