This is a work by Youji Matsuoka, who runs a blown glass studio in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Many of Matsuoka's vessels feature gently rounded designs, with some even titled "Marui" (meaning "round").
In addition to his series of slightly amber-tinted clear glass, he also offers a new series of colored glass.
They have a suitable thickness, feel very comfortable in the hand, and are perfect for everyday use.
When the transparent, round glass traps light, it creates a warm spot in the space.
