Ms. Obuchi, who makes pottery in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, uses a variety of colorful glazes to create works with beautiful tones.

The color combinations change every time, and organic changes due to firing, such as how the glazes melt and flow, are also added.
This creates one-of-a-kind works, no two of which are alike.
There are numerous types of graduated glazes, and in recent years she has also been producing plates painted with colorful glazes that resemble Impressionist paintings.

Another attractive feature of Ms. Obuchi's pottery is that it is very light and suitable for everyday use.
The rich colors evoke a sense of light, and the pottery makes you feel bright just by looking at it.
