Based in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, Ms. Obuchi creates works of beautiful hues by skillfully using a variety of colorful glazes.

The color combinations change each time, and organic changes from firing, such as how the glaze melts and flows, are also added.
This creates unique pieces, no two of which are alike.
There are numerous types of blended gradations, and in recent years she has also been making plates painted with colorful glazes, reminiscent of Impressionist paintings.
