These are works by Hiromi Suzuki, who creates pottery in Ogoto, Mashiko-machi, Haga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture.
Ms. Suzuki focuses on simple pieces that are pleasant to the touch, easy to use, and complement food when served.
The most striking aspect of her work is the delicate, beautiful, pale colors.
There are various expressions within the gentle gradations, and the impression changes completely depending on whether you view them in bright or dim light.
The names, such as "Sakura-iro" (cherry blossom color) and "Yoi-iro" (twilight color), also match the impression of the colors well.
While possessing a soft atmosphere, these are sturdy and charming vessels that do not fade away.
