This is a piece by Toshifumi Tashiro, a ceramist who creates pottery in Mashiko, a town known for pottery.
Tashiro's works are characterized by their sharp forms, dignified presence, and calm, monochrome-centered colors.
The types of glazes he uses include "ash glaze" and "black ash glaze," which use oak ash, metallic glazes such as "manganese" and "mottled glaze," and his new "oniita" glaze.
