Tsukamoto Yuta 22.5cm Rimmed Plate, Black

These are works by Yuta Tsukamoto, a young ceramic artist who creates pottery in Taketoyo Town, Chita County, Aichi Prefecture.

He primarily creates ceramic vessels using a potter's wheel, crafting works with different textures: soft "white," hard and dignified "black," subtly gleaming "silver," and "pale silver" with beautiful, delicate crazing.

For this collection, Mr. Tsukamoto created many vessels for Chinese and Japanese tea, which he himself enjoys daily.
The abstract yet somewhat sculptural forms and details designed to fit comfortably in the hand reflect the earnest gaze of a creator who deeply engages with his daily tea time.

2017 Graduated from Nagoya University of Arts. Moved to Tokoname and worked as an assistant to ceramist Tetsuya Osawa.
2019 Built a kiln and is currently active in Taketoyo Town, Chita County.
