Washizawa Washiko Mug

Introducing the works of ceramic artist Washiko Washizawa.

Washizawa's vessels are characterized by a unique worldview created by the accidental expressions that emerge during the firing process and the individuality of the materials.
They are finished with a matte gray glaze speckled with fine black particles, and combined with the earthy texture of the surface, they possess a depth reminiscent of stone walls or mountain slopes.


The faint bluish tint that appears in the pools of glaze evokes a quiet depth, bringing a somewhat ethereal atmosphere.
While their presence may seem understated at first glance, they become strikingly prominent as a backdrop the moment food is placed upon them.

These are vessels that bring the power of nature and a calm tranquility to your dining table.
