Takeshi Yoshida, a potter who creates his works in Mashiko Town, Haga County, Tochigi Prefecture, a town famous for its pottery.
Mr. Yoshida mainly creates two series: "Bronze," which has a texture like unearthed artifacts, and "Hakudeisai" (white mud glaze), which resembles the walls of ruins.
In recent years, he has also increased his production of "Akasai" (red glaze) works, which are rare, and series with highly elaborate sculptural elements.
Many of his works clearly show his commitment to color and texture, and their unique appearance, like unearthed artifacts, is distinctive.
This time, he also has original pottery works such as masks and candle holders.
On the other hand, many of his vessels are lightweight, making them perfect for daily use.
